Aſt er many years away, Captain Marat returns home carrying a great burden deep within his soul. The whole village condemns him for being the sole survivor of a deadly storm that sank his ship and took the lives of all its crew and passengers, including Marat’s wife.
Although the sea has now mysteriously dried up, the sadness and bitterness of Captain Marat’s ship remains. Marat is obsessed by the idea of making the sea return, which he believes will, in some way, help return the villagers’ loved ones
