Tom and his mother Elaine move back to her childhood home in Ireland. While exploring the dilapidated farm, Tom comes across the farms turlough (a seasonal lake) and makes a disturbing discovery. Not long afterwards, he and Elaine become involved with Ward and Holly, the father and daughter from the neighboring farm. Holly learns of Tom’s secret discovery, and slowly reveals to him a network of lies and secrets, pulling Tom into a violent confrontation with the darkest parts of human nature.
