A tranquil summer day the Moomin Valley is interrupted by a volcanic eruption followed by an overflow. Water rises higher and higher, but just in time the Moomin family and all their friends get away to a strange house that floats to their rescue a drifting theatre, also home of theatre-loving Emma.
