Neekos is arrested by the LAPD f, he refuses to cooperate with authorities regarding his origins, which leads social worker Shirley Fenton to discover that he is the son of illegal aliens. Thus at such a young age, he is facing the familiar problem of immigration law enforcement at the same time as dealing with his medical problems.
, he becomes a rebellious but positive force. He befriends another patient (Jack) but at the same time a number of the staff (Carr, he was in fact born in the USA and is an American citizen. With Jack?s help, Neekos takes on the system and wins learning some valuable life lessons along the way.
