Set in the natural beauty of the Pacif, MEL, the new film from North by Northwest Entertainment, revives the legend of a giant turtle named Mel. Kept secret by the cantankerous hermit Bill, played by Oscar-winner Ernest Borgnine, Mel lives a tranquil existence on Bill?s lakeside ranch.

Bill and Mel?s tranquility disappears when Bill?s troublem, played by Josh Paddock and Bug Hall, arrive for a summer away from their Los Angeles home. When their parents, played by Julie Hagerty and Greg Evigan, arranged the trip, they had no idea the small-town experience would deliver such a big-time adventure.

The boys? world turns upside d, but they can?t resist the charms of Bill?s pretty young neighbor, played by Vanessa Evigan, who joins the boys in caring for the turtle.

Greedy theme park owner Bailey Silverwood, played by Jack Scalia, has other plans. With Mel as his park?s star attraction, he could make a fortune. He plots to entrap the old man, implicate the boys and kidnap the turtle.
